High Heel Shoes – Sexy Sandals, Pumps and Boots

Who likes to shave all the time, especially during the warm summer months when our legs and underarms are constantly exposed?

I have never used an epilator before, lucky for me I have fairly thin and light hair so I only have to shave my legs, underarms and privies about once a week or so. Besides I was afraid it would be very painful getting the sensitive hairs plugged with a machine. After I was asked to review the eRASE Epilator by Emjoi I was excited and more than a little nervous to give it a try. But before I get into my actual review, here are a few facts about this new hair removal device.

The eRase e60 (Model# AP-14EB) is the newest addition to the Emjoi line of products,  it is available to purchase on their website www.emjoi.com.

This small epilator was a huge success at the International Home and Housewares show back in March, calling it a hair removal miracle in a compact size. The eRase is a corded, dual-speed power-plugger with 60 tweezer action discs arranged in skin-tautening dual opposing heads. It features innovative Erase Glide Technology which enables you to glide it either back and forth or in circular motion over the skin to remove hair in seconds.

It comes with a sensitive attachment, making it gentle enough to remove individual facial hair on your chin or upper lip, if needed. The eRase removes hair from the root as short as 0.3 mm leaving your skin smooth for up to 6 weeks.

Here are my eRase Epilator findings:

Before you use any hair removal devices take a hot shower and exfoliate your skin.

  • Legs – After taking a deep breath I started using the epilator by holding the skin taut with one hand while running the device across my legs first. I was very pleasantly surprised that it didn’t hurt nearly as much as I thought it might.  It is more of a stinging sensation like getting snapped really fast with a rubber band, in some areas of my legs I didn’t feel it at all.  I don’t know, this might be due to the thin, fine hair I have on my legs. There are two settings and I quickly realized that the faster setting is of course quicker. I was able to remove the hair from my ankles, shins, knees and even the top of my big toes very effortlessly (I don’t usually bother with my thighs).
  • Underarms – It was a bit awkward epilating my underarms. You are supposed to hold the eRase facing with one hand while holding your skin firm with the other. It took me a little while to figure out how best to do this and another minute of deep breathing before I was able to touch the tweezers to my skin. It was a bit more painful at first, but after running it up and down my armpit a few times my skin got more desensitized and it didn’t bother me quite so much. Since the fist use I have used the emjoi several times on my underarms now and hardly feel it all. My skin tone  is actually improving as a result of the hair stubble not being visible any longer. The only tricky part of epilating your underarms is positioning the unit correctly.
  • Private Area – Truthfully, I only used the device on my privies once so far. I kept running it over the same area again and again, (it wasn’t too horribly painful, just uncomfortable) but it’s very time consuming. At first I used the sensitive attachment, but then ditched it to try to speed up the process. I spent a good ten minutes on one area before I got tired of it. It’s also messy, so be sure to stand on a towel or inside your tub, if you have an outlet close by, when you epilate your private area or else you will have little pubic hairs all over the place. The area I was able to epilate is still smooth after a week, so I will go back and spend some more time on it.
  • Face – I did not use the eRase epilator on my face.

Using the epilator on my leg

I’m glad I was finally brave enough to use an epilator and I’m overall pleased with the outcome of this compact hair removal device. It truly does beat having to shave all the time.

The Emjoi eRase e60 retails for only $79.95 and is small enough to take along on trips. I love the pretty little bag to store the device and attachments in, and I don’t know about you, but I don’t like my cosmetics and bathroom items to roll around willy-nilly in my bathroom drawers either.
